Talk outline/Summary
In this roundtable we will have invited some local audio directors to contribute to the discussion around the topic of 'Immersion' in games and how Game Audio plays a large role in this space. We will discuss techniques, approaches and general philosophy around design of soundscapes in games.
This is a roundtable where everyone is welcome to contribute and we will moderate the group for comments and questions to make sure everyone can be in the discussion.
Event details
- Tickets : Please grab your free ticket to attend this event, this helps us tremendously and is required due to the liquor license on site. While there is some flexibility (see our F.A.Q.) here and we won't check unless we have to, we expect all attendees to have a ticket.
- Alcohol : We have an alcohol permit for this event. The format is B.Y.O.B. so there will not be anything available on site if you don't bring it yourself and we would like to prioritize plastic and metal containers, please avoid glass :)
- After hours @BENELUX : As usual those who groove to "No sleep t'ill brooklyn" can head on over to Benelux after the main event for our usual after hours shindig which ends when it ends. All are welcome !

Jean-François Tremblay, Audio Director at EA Motive
Jean‑François Tremblay is an experienced Audio Director based in Montreal, currently leading audio teams and creative direction on AAA game projects. Over his career, he has contributed to several major titles within the Electronic Arts portfolio, including Dead Space (2023), Star Wars: Squadrons, Anthem, Star Wars: Battlefront II, Mass Effect: Andromeda and Dragon Age: Inquisition.
Known for his deep understanding of interactive sound and storytelling, Jean-François has played a key role in shaping the audio identity of these franchises, from early sound design to full-scale audio leadership.
